How to use this tool
Choose encoding or decoding and whether to use a URL component or form-query convention. Component encoding uses UTF-8 percent escapes. Form-query mode represents spaces with plus signs. This is a component tool: encoding a complete URL also escapes separators such as slashes and question marks. Invalid percent-encoded UTF-8 is rejected.
Try these values
In component mode, “a b+c” becomes “a%20b%2Bc”. In form-query mode its space is represented by + while the literal plus remains %2B.
Common questions
Does plus always mean a space?
No. That interpretation applies to form-query mode, not every URL component.
Does encoding make a URL safe to trust?
No. It changes representation; it does not verify a destination or remove malicious content.
