Methods & Corrections
How ZenUtility explains calculations, handles sources and accepts corrections.
Explain the method
A tool should answer the task first, then explain its inputs, conventions and limitations. We include worked examples and questions that clarify common ambiguities, such as whether an end date is included.
Distinguish data from calculations
Arithmetic tools calculate from your inputs. Time zone conversions use a bundled IANA-derived transition dataset, with its version shown beside the controls. Browser calendar conversions use the browser’s calendar implementation. Prayer times come from AlAdhan. Holiday lists are imported from Calendarific. City coordinates come from GeoNames under CC BY 4.0. These are different kinds of evidence and are labeled accordingly.
Sources you can follow
Where a tool uses outside data, we name its source and explain how it affects the answer. Download dates on saved timetables and holiday pages help you judge freshness. If a provider is unavailable, we identify a saved response rather than presenting it as a new download.
Testing and review
Calculation checks cover representative examples and important boundaries. Updated tools should be tested before deployment. A test pass is not a substitute for checking a third-party dataset against its official source. Changes to data coverage should be reflected on the relevant page.
Report and correct
Send corrections to info@zenutility.com with the page, inputs, observed answer and a reliable source or explanation. We investigate reproducible issues and update the calculation, explanation or data as appropriate.
