Compare JSON Values Instead of Formatting
Compare two JSON values structurally, ignoring object key order while retaining array order and value types.
Choose structural or text comparison
A text diff reports changes in spacing and line order. Structural JSON comparison focuses on parsed values, so reordering object properties does not count as a change. Use the text diff tool when exact serialized content is what you need to inspect.
Keep types and array order
The number 1 differs from the string "1". An absent property differs from a property whose value is null. Arrays are compared by index, so moving an item can produce several differences rather than a single move operation.
Read the difference paths
Paths identify the changed property or array element using JSON Pointer escaping. Added and removed entries refer to the second document relative to the first. Swap the documents if you want to view the comparison in the opposite direction.
Know the parser limits
The comparison stops at 200 changes and rejects excessive nesting. Duplicate keys collapse to their final parsed value, and large unquoted numbers may lose precision. Keep original source text when signatures, duplicate-key detection or exact numeric tokens matter.
