How to use this tool
Enter two positive whole-number parts. The greatest common divisor reduces the ratio to its simplest form. Enter a total to split in those proportions: the first share is total × first part ÷ sum of parts. The ratio itself is not a percentage until the combined parts are used as a denominator.
Try these values
A ratio of 20:30 simplifies to 2:3. Splitting a total of 200 in that ratio gives 80 and 120.
Common questions
Can I enter decimal ratios?
This tool uses whole-number parts. Multiply both parts by the same power of ten first.
Does simplifying change the proportions?
No. Both parts are divided by the same common factor.
