How to use this tool
Paste text and enter a reading pace from 50 to 1,000 words per minute. Duration is the word count divided by the entered pace. Browser word segmentation is used where available, with a whitespace fallback. The estimate does not measure comprehension, speaking pauses, diagrams or a particular reader’s ability.
Try these values
At 200 words per minute, 600 words take an estimated three minutes. Reading aloud or reviewing unfamiliar material can take longer.
Common questions
Can I use it for a speech?
You can enter your speaking pace, but the result will not include deliberate pauses or audience interaction.
Does the tool measure my actual pace?
No. You choose a pace; the tool estimates duration from that assumption.
