    How to use this timer

Select Focus for 25 minutes or Break for 5 minutes, then press Start. Sessions do not advance automatically: choose the next mode when you are ready. A visible label identifies the mode, and you can enable an optional sound. After several focus sessions, consider a longer break using the custom duration field. The timer is a practical aid, not a promise of better concentration.

    A WORKED EXAMPLE

    Try these values

Try one 25-minute writing session followed by a 5-minute break. If interruptions are frequent, choose a shorter interval and use pause when needed. Decide on one task before starting.

    Give each session one job

Before starting, decide what you want to finish in the next interval: draft a paragraph, review a page or work through a small set of problems. Twenty-five minutes is a convenient default, not a rule you have to follow. If the task is new or interruptions are frequent, a shorter interval may be easier to complete without repeatedly pausing.

    Take the break deliberately

When a focus interval ends, choose the break yourself. The timer does not quietly switch modes or start another session while you are away. Use the break to stand up, stretch or step away from the screen, then choose the next task. After several sessions, a longer break may suit your schedule better than continuing the same short cycle all day.

    Common questions

Does it switch to a break automatically?

No. You choose the next session, so a break cannot start unnoticed.

Can I change the focus duration?

Yes. Enter a custom duration before starting.

    Is my work tracked?

No. There is no account, task monitoring or stored work history.
