How to use this tool
Enter a nonnegative amount and choose its source and target units. Decimal kB, MB, GB and TB use powers of 1,000. Binary KiB, MiB, GiB and TiB use powers of 1,024. These fields measure bytes, not bits, and output uses ordinary floating-point display precision.
Try these values
1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes, which is approximately 0.9313 GiB. 1 GiB is 1,073,741,824 bytes.
Common questions
Does this calculate usable drive capacity?
No. Filesystems, reserved areas and actual hardware capacity require separate information.
Are MB and Mb the same?
No. Uppercase B means bytes; lowercase b commonly means bits. This tool converts byte units.
